Okay, I just took the photo of the picture. It will be in a place of honor, just above some of Cliff's flutes. I had something else there, very easy decision to make the change. Lovey dubby
I have to go get a picture hanger, then it will be place just a little above the flutes. Hurray!
The wall is a pale papyrus color that is found in small amounts in the green part of the painting. How did you know that Sharon? I see the wall color doesn't show true in this photo. Glare
Still trying to decide if I want to have it framed and if so what kind of frame. I am not good at this type of thing. Any one have some ideas?
What do you think Sharon?

I would either leave it unframed or go with a very simple wooden frame that picks up the color of the flutes.

It looks very good there, Lynn, and I'm glad the orange-y color in the throat is finally showing a little better. Also glad the touch of green matches.

Most people when framing use only thin pieces of wood on the edges, not actual frames. It really was not meant to have a frame that shows because that detracts from the painting. It would then be like using strips of wood, much the same size as a wooden yardstick and laying them flat against the sides.

Can you tell I don't work with wood, so I don't know how to describe it?

I'll see if I can find a picture.

Same as you said, Woofie.
Great minds and all that.

And Lynn, no glass. OK? Just the wood strips.

Beautiful Lynn, just beautiful! And perfect place for it --- it looks so nice above the flutes.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown

I knew it shouldn't have glass. A traditional frame was what was causing me trouble with the thought of framing it, for the reasons you listed above.
I love the strips of wood along the edges. That is beautiful and I think it would look wonderful.
Now to find a place that can do that.

Just find the wood strip in an 8' length and stain it to match the flutes. Then have Cliff cut the pieces, mitre the corners to a 45 degree angle and glue, a corner at a time. Then a touch of glue on each side of the painting, then slip the frame on gently pushing from front to back.

I've done that, it works, but you have to have perfect mitres.

Bet Cliff can do it.

She wants to frame it because the staples along the sides show a little. I usually stretch my own canvas, but realize now I didn't stretch this one. Must have been in a hurry.

When I stretch them I stretch to the back and add the staples there. You can buy them that way too, but I already had this canvas and since I was doing it for ATP, I used it because it would be faster. So the staples do show a little even though the green is painted over.

So in this instance, maybe the frame would be better.

Perfect mitres are easier said than done! Sigh, I always end up with a gap. Rolling my eyes.

In that case I would probably want to frame it to hide the staples also.
