Since ATP has no more cubits plant stores and Dave's Garden Market Place has closed we hobby growers are more or less stuck with our products. I have decided to open an eBay store again until hopefully ATP comes up with something...(hint hint hint).....I loved my cubits and had to close it much too soon.

If you would like to see what I am selling please check out my store. You need not purchase anything, just look. I do want to keep in touch with you all. I miss you. Hope you all have a wonderful summer growing season.

I think there is a period after the link, let's try it without that and see what happens. Sorry for the inconvenience.

For the record, we encouraged everyone to keep their cubit stores, and link their ATP profiles over to their store. We don't plant to change that Smiling

You are, of course, welcome to have a store wherever you'd like- I just didn't want anyone to have the wrong impression.

All sellers are welcome to have their stores listed in their signature line, and on their profile page. Also, there is a microbadge that looks like a shopping cart that I recommend to anyone with a store so that our members can find you!

I wish you the best with your newest store, JB!

Thanks, Trish. I was wondering if Cubits was no longer opening new sites, or closing down. Glad you posted.

JB, we've exchanged plants and think you'll continue to do well judging from what I've received. Good going~! Wishing you well at the new store.

Trish, please look back in your files and I am positive I mean positive that I was told I could not have a store on ATP and all plant stores on Cubits were to close. I was heartsick because everyone helped me get my cubit store going and I was not told I could keep it open when I moved to ATP. Believe me had that not been the case I would still be there. I had a beautiful cubits, thanks to all your wonderful members who helped me and I was so proud. I am really confused now because at the time of the move, I honestly was so upset to have to close my cubits. I feel sure I ask that very question...do I have to close it and I was told yes, there will be no selling on ATP for now.

I would much prefer a cubits store than eBay or even both, but honestly Trish, that was what I was told. I think Dave told me that. I can not be sure, but I know I questioned it several times and got the same answer. If I am permitted to have a cubits store for Houseplants I would like to know it. Confused Lovey dubby

More than this, I'm phasing in a feature where people can show here at ATP the plants they have for sale. http://garden.org/lists/

Nope. Sounds like you mis-understood somebody somewhere. We love Cubit stores and would never suggest people can't have them.

I looked further into this. You had a lengthy exchange with Trish on July 8th, 2011. You approached her asking to shut down your Cubit because it wasn't a "home" for your type of gardening. In the initial mail that you sent, you said:

JB said:I am not really happy with the Cubits because there never seems to be a "home" for my type gardening.

Later in the same mail, you said:

JB said:I do not have time to care for a cubits and I am delighted to have you take over that for me. When you have a second, please take a look at my Cubit's, including the store and if you want me, you have my permission to move whatever you want to move to the new site. IMMEDIATELY. I will close the Cubit's store if you suggest because I do not see the traffic there being enough to make a big difference in sales.

Trish gave you some ideas, thoughts and encouragements. Ultimately, Trish told you:

Trish said:As for your cubit- it is completely up to you.

You replied:

JB said:I would guess since the garden traffic will no doubt be moving to the new site, leaving the store up on Cubits would be a waste of time and space....If it is not possible to move JBsPlants Cubits store to the new site, then close everything down immediately.

Trish replied:

Trish said:I honestly don't know what the future holds as far as stores on ATP.

There is no harm or wasted space to just keep your cute store right here.

It's your call, of course. I'm just saying that it won't hurt anything.

Give it some thought.

and 3 hours later you replied:

JB said:Please remove everything from Cubits. Thank you.

So she did.

I hope this helps jog your memory about the exchange. I can forward to you the entire back-and-forth if you would like it.

I stand corrected, but, we went to all that trouble and I was so happy with it, I was not happy with no traffic but we were going to work on that...I apologize, I am completely wrong and you have some of the conversation there and I am sure you are accurate. I honestly was under the impression that all of the plant stores had to close, that is why I said close it immediately. I should have waited.

I want to make it very clear, I was not trying to be a wise guy here.....I am too old to play games or try and start trouble with people I care about. I honestly and I mean Honestly was under the impression that what I said here was accurate. I thought we had to close the cubits stores if we had plants for sale and were moving to ATP. I felt so bad so many people helped me to get it up and running. I do apologize and hope you all forgive me for speaking out of turn. JB

It's no problem. We just want to make sure that there is no confusion to anyone else.

I tip my hat to you.

That conversation that we had is still available at cubits, as Dave said, in case you want to read it.

Hope you can get your Cubits store back up and running again! Or maybe just put your inventory in your ATP list? My understanding is that the lists are set up to make it possible for vendors to let people know what they have available for sale? Do I have that right, Trish?

Yes, the inventory lists has a "Available for sale" checkbox. I plan to greatly expand that functionality one day in the future.

We will see. Maybe I am too old for all this. Sad It makes you wonder when you can so clearly remember things that have not happened. Weird. I will take a breather and think about it and maybe one of these days I will give a new cubits a try. Thank you all for your help. JB

I hope you'll at least look at the lists option here on ATP. It's so easy to add things to your list, and the entry in the database will show that you have the plant available. And having a list here will give you an easy way to keep track of inventory.

You are very sweet Woofie, and I promise I will try the list, in fact I may start it today if the rain continues. My life since November has been just one big depressed mess. Had it not been for my plants and the internet sales I would have gone over the edge. It has been scary and I am working through it. I have taken inventory just last week and was thinking of putting it on Excel, but maybe I will just put it on here and see if that does not work. I have a list on Plant Scout in DG but I am not renewing that since the Market Place closed. I really do not need to sell these plants in a dozen different places but since it is my "Therapy" I want to keep it going at least for awhile until I get too old to water. If you stop doing what you love to do you get really old really quick. So, I will get my written list out, print out my Plant Scout List and see if I can find time to start my list here on ATP. I honestly do not know enough about ATP to take full advantage of all the goodies if offers. Thank you for your help.
