Woofie,
The list seems very easy to use except my plants are not in the database listed for example:
I have several different varieties and colors of Thanksgiving Cactus but it will not permit me to put in the name and it is no good to me without a name, and they do not have anything listed on the list as what I have. So, now what? Example. Schlumbergera 'Thor Tenna' it is a Thanksgiving Cactus but without me identifying it as Thor Tenna it would not help me keep an accurate inventory. How do I get around that?
Nothing is easy for me. Sticking tongue out
I am going to quit for now. Have a good evening.

Now, now, sounds to me like you just need to add the "Thor Tenna" to the database. See, you can help build our database as you create your list. Smiling

So that is what this is all about. OK I can do that. Just thought I was limited to what was showing. I hope I do not screw up your database. LOL I am going to try and work on it today for sure if all goes well. This morning I had more computer problems....something in here is fighting with another program and I need to fix that first. Thanks Woofie. Hugs.

Not to worry, that's what moderators are for. Which is why the plants you add won't show up immediately in the database. (I just went through this with a new member). Sometimes things are approved really quickly, it just depends on how busy the moderators are. And you won't be able to upload photos to the entry until the new entry has been approved. You'll get a system message on your home page when the new entry is approved. And of course, acorns! I looked at your ebay list and you have some really interesting and lovely plants!

Thank you so much for the kind words. I am having quite a time making my list but I am slowly doing it.
I am sure the moderators will have to go on tranquilizers before I am finished. nodding
I think I have about 10 completed plants listed now. I loose track when I put one in sometimes. I have a list I keep checking off, but until I get the info and the picture approved, I forget what is next. *Blush* Hopefully it will all be ok when I am finished. I still have quite a few more to go. Time to get on the tractor and mow grass so this will have to wait until later, or maybe even tomorrow. JB

I want to publicly apologize to Trish and Dave. I went back to Cubits and looked around my mail, etc. and I most certainly was wrong. You very clearly said that the stores could stay in Cubits and the plant people can move on. I must have been having a bad day but I surely had my back up for some reason, but it was clearly my decision to close the cubits store. I DO APOLOGIZE to both of you. You would think at this age I would have learned not to be such a crabby old bat for no reason at all.

At my age, and then I was only a year younger, you never know if you are lucky enough to wake up in the morning what your day will be like or what kind of a mood will you be in. I can only hope you find it in your hearts to forgive me and if not, my loss, big time. I would like to promise it will never happen again, but like I said, at my age, who in the world knows what comes next.

I have been living with the fear of going blind for several years now and just last month the eye specialist changed my drops in my good eye to help me buy more time. So far it is working.
God has been good to me and when I do stupid things it just makes me so angry with myself. I know better and I am so sorry.

Oh, my, Jacquie, I can so relate to having eye problems! It's scary stuff. I was legally blind at one point. I've had to have surgeries and drops and injections. I'm lucky to have had my problems spotted early on and had some really good doctors, so my vision is better than I have any right to expect. But it's very frightening!

I wanted you to all know that I am officially the owner of a new cubits on cubits.org. JBsPlants@Roblyn Farm. I am going to finish it by stocking the store, but in the meantime we are just going to have fun talking about Christmas/Holiday Cactus and sharing pictures. ZANY OF COURSE WAS A TREMENDOUS HELP AS ALWAYS. The people there are so cooperative and kind. Thanks for pushing me into going back. I am really enjoying it. Hurray!

Oh, that's great! Hurray! I do hope you'll still list your plants here (heh heh and update our database in the process! Green Grin! )

Oh Woofie, I certainly will. I ran into a snag with one plant's ID and it has taken me days to get it into my head how I want to list it. It is one of those that was given to me and it doesn't fit into any of the database listings that I see. I need to try and see if I can even list it here. I have not had time to talk to Dave but I will when I get all the info together to see what he wants to do. My problem is I do not want to misrepresent any of these plants in the database so we will see. This plant in question as so many genes mixed into it even the professionals can not give it a "positive" ID. Sad

Would this plant fall into the category of "Cactus and Tender Succulents?" If so, you might try chatting with the people over on that forum and see if they have any suggestions.

There has been very little activity on that forum. I checked it earlier and it has been relatively quiet.
I ask here in ATP and DG and no one could give me an answer. I did, however get a great answer and explanation from Cactusguide.com and it made a great deal of sense. I just must find the time to find a place to put it on ATP's database without misrepresenting it as something it is not.

Another possibility would be to contact the moderator of that area of the database directly. (Hee hee, maybe you can tell I'm a teeny bit pushy and have no problem pestering people! Hilarious! )
