Ok sooooo lots of pic's and I went to one more nursery Sister's Iris Farm. I only took a few pic's because I was lucky enough to spend most of my time talking with Robyn and looking at her lovely iris progeny, so many fascinating crosses! Robyn was really lovely and I took up lots of her time with questions Smiling

So that's it pretty much sums up the trip. Thank you Barbara for mentioning the other Iris farms! I did buy one Iris, Elf Esteem from Mid America. I have a few in pots waiting to get in the ground. It was really fantastic but a long 5 and1/2 hour drive home.

Oh Leslie, I would have chatted your ear off if I had known! Did you visit a number of the iris gardens as well?

Thanks for the acorns Evelyn and Barbara!
I'm glad to be able to share the experience. usually I'm not one for taking many photos but I thought the irises were just amazing I kind of just started photographing without really even thinking about it. I was almost overwhelmed by the saturation of color, It was almost difficult to stop and take in the details of a singular cultivar.

We spent yesterday morning at Adelman's peonies and the afternoon at MidAmerica. We went with Robin to visit Keith Keppel today and had just gotten back a little bit before you arrived. We are going up to visit with Chad at Mt. Pleasant tomorrow, then on to Seattle.

I agree, thank you Rebekah for sharing your trip with us! I really enjoyed seeing the overall shots of the gardens, and all of those luscious seedlings at Mid America. Lovey dubby

Your detailed shots just confirmed a few must-haves, ones I've added then taken off the wish list over the years. It looks like you had great weather / lighting conditions while you were there. What good fortune, your photos are wonderful! Hurray!

I realized I should have added one thing to my earlier post. It was a tremendous honor to meet Keith Keppel, but I would be remiss not to add that his gardens are not open to public viewing. My visit had been planned months ago.

MidAmerica does have open visit times. You should check in with Iris Sister's ahead of time because Robin has a day job along with running her gardens.
