I bought a Jackmani clematis and I have sen picture with two clematis planted together and I love that. So I want to get another one to go with it. I was thinking a pink, similar flower size, and nice and hardy since I'm a newbie. I live in zone 6 and it will have morning shade and lots of afternoon sun. Thanks for your recommendations!

Try Comtess de Bouchard or Margaret Hunt. They both group 3, vigorous like Jackmani, and prefer sunny position. Inspiration can work too or Jolly Good (a bit smaller in size than Jackmani), or Fairy Dust.

I have a Golden Celebration rose in with my Jackmanii. The brilliant gold/yellow of the rose is wonderful
with the deep purple if the Jackmanii.

I've tried several, such as 'Nelly Moser '& the good 'Dr. Ruppel,'' but I think 'Kilian Donahue' ( or similar one) is stunning & more of really better companion , no matter what the group, it's in. Though hadn't tried it, to see if it bloomed at same time. I first started with 'Duchess Edinburgh' way back in th e80's & thought some Nelly Moser.' to be impostors..(as it turned greyish?) While, I think my Dr, Ruppel from Brushwood, lasted many years, from about when it first opened business !
I may have used the white Henryii, or similar 'maybe 'Guernsey Cream"? Not sure if I recall that last one, correctly..For a pink, red, white & purple scheme & added a large blue flowered, eventually. Now, it's almost time to start over...
