I started seed in 2015 and it bloomed in 2016. I was surprised at how quickly it flowered up.

It's so tempting! But sadly I don't know where I'd be able to overwinter it.

You can cut it back at the end of the season and store the pot containing the tuber indoors. I have my 4 year old plant in about a 2 gallon container. It will send up new vines from the tuber. Store it dry, no added water during the winter.

What temperature would it need to be kept at during dormancy?

I see references that it is hardy to 0°F. I keep my plant in the attached unheated garage. It stays a cool room temperature and on very cold nights it may get to refrigerator temperature.

Hopefully, will get a few more of these.
Not very well shaped, possibly due to heat wave, if I recall.
(Also sowed 'Ukigumo', this Spring, from a Japanese pkt. too, I think.)

Have plenty of 4 ft. bamboo, from Lowe's which don't have much green "dye", as I don't care much for planting against chain link fence, unless when a Hurricane hits here, directly...

Thanks, & yeah, it can be difficult at times, keeping track, of which pkt. contains exactly what, when you get enough collected seed...

Some, I'd just collected for the entire year all mixed, especially when unexpected snowfall, suddenly had occurred !

First year, was overwhelmed with amount of seeds, though "grew them out", as some were ten years old, & some very good ones, took quite awhile to ever germinate.
