3 seedlings from seed collected late winter 2019. They were in a tiny pot & I repotted 2 days ago to see how big the bulbs are. The bulbs are not quite as big as the end of your little finger so they will stay in this pot til late spring.

I have experimented with lots of Amaryllis seeds and found both soaking in water, using a mini hot house setup and planting directly into soil very successful.
Planting In a mini hot house set up or directly into soil involves a lot less labour. I use 2 plastic disposable food containers. They are joined along one side so it can be opened and closed when wanted. These seedlings can then stay in this container until a good size to transplant.

I added a quarter so you could reference the bulb size. I thought the size was pretty good for one year.

I also want to correct a statement I said in a earlier post. I said that the sinkers are no good. I take that statement back. I have had a surprisingly amount of sinkers that have grown roots and when planted have grown just fine. So my point is to not give up on the sinkers, they might surprise you.

I love this little project. This year I was able to cross a few flowers I had blooming this year. Got some nice seeds from the crossing and already have 30 seedlings. Probably have over 100 when I run out of seeds. So much fun!

I agree, often some sink because they have somehow lost surface tension of the water, and if dried off (topside) will happily re-float again.

here something strange, I had 2 Griffinia liboniana plants blooming, one I did not pollinated, all died after the bloom, second I pollinated with Hippeastrum x johnsonii (the only one that was blooming during this time)

What do u think I will get any seeds ? Thous are 2 totally different amaryllis plants

here is how it is looks like about 10-14 days after the bloom

Well, there does appear to be a seed pod forming. But sometimes they will start, and then abort. I guess just wait and seed (pun intended Rolling on the floor laughing ) .

Keep them moist, and bring them indoors before the first frost. They can be in sun, but not blaring sun or they will get sunburned and die. If you have plant lights, put them under the light this winter. If not, then in a sunny or bright location, but not blaring sun. Keep moist, but not soggy. After a month or so, you can water with very weak fertilizer water now and then - keep it weak.

That is interesting. I wonder if the seed is some sort of sterile oddity. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't sprout.
