That is a beauty! Love the color and the shape is fabulous, it does look like a rose.

So Mike they do OK on a screen porch right! I've been told so many times they have to be in direct hot sun; and I just know that's not true. The guys I have on my porch get very little direct sun but seem to be happy and healthy. I don't have any indoors because I have no luck (or skill) with them when I try to raise indoors. I have several at the base of a large black sapote tree that are in pots, lots of shade and some sun;they do very well too. While a batch that I have in the back of my house in full sun all day long do very poorly.

The problem is JIM, Those plants don't read the books and respond to what makes them feel good.... Rolling on the floor laughing
that's why we like to move them around to see what works....

Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing I just have to laugh, we are getting so much rain I don't even have to think about watering anything out in the sun. The ones I have on the porch I tend to over water and I'm determined to water only once a month, drenching till water runs out the bottom. The seedlings I tend to spray with water twice a day and after I put them in 3"pots I will start soaking them every two weeks. I keep doing different things to see what works. I have learned that our sub tropical heat makes a difference then folks who grow them in other parts of the country.

the porch i have it is facing west and i get it close to the west side to get after noon sun but they will be back out as soon as i see a break in the rain. i have my large ones in full direct sun and these im moving are under 2 yo I do have some of my special collection in the porch all the time but they are in a sw window so they are getting a ton of bright lite and some good sun I have to open the vinal windows due to they have a uv protection.

The question how hot in side is it well with out a breeze its hot but i insulated the roof with a reflective barrier and the kick plates with that and spray foam to keep cooler in summer and warmer in winter, if the breeze is there its what ever tem is in the shade outside.

Jim, I understand you do not need to water right now, but you mention before your plants in full sun are not performing good, so don’t you think you need to water then more often if we have no rain.

Mike how did you insulate the roof?? I want to do it for a long time, but I do not know how. I want to use my FR but I can’t because the temperature is 110F during the summer.
I am thinking right now and doing a research how to install a portable AC. I have glass doors, the problem is I do not have an opening, so if I cut the glass how should I insulate or close if I remove the AC. I am looking for the solution

We have a portable a/c we use in case ours goes out and my DH made a thing like those doggie doors you put in sliding glass doors, that allows the unit to vent to the outside, and when not in use we just remove the whole contraption and slide the doors shut again. It was not a big project.
