I have to sing the praises of Trailing coleus.I tried some new ones this year and these are the best.
#1 Tr.Psycoleus just goes on and on

#2 Tr.Black,this does well in some of the contaners but not all

#3 Tr.Strawberry

#4 Red This gets huge and trails well I have pinched this back but left another alone in another planter and I cant see the companion plants

#5 Tr Green Olives. Well behaved

#6 Tr. Prince. Another spreader and has a chocolate mauve color.Not as red as in this image

Every-morning when I walk the garden it just calls to me.
It's really special and was a new offering on RD this spring.I took a chance and find the performance just overwhelming.
My camera doesnt show how deep the color is.

We recently had some rain but are still in a severe drought.It has been a summer of dragging hoses.& realizing that small intimate gardens have merit. Just had to pick & choose what to keep watered. My pet daylilies & all the containers were kept up.I discovered that coleus & plants that had thrived with full morning sun were much happier with a little shade.Seemed to be a whole new ballgame.
