Well I have had My Bees for 3 mons now and only been stung once was my own fault .
Started with 2 Someone else set up my hives & im thinking there was no queen in one hive the bees left the second hive seem to be doing well a little slower them some other hives I have seen people post in a FB bee group I don't think ill rob any honey this year .. unless the fall flow really speeds them up.

How lovely to stumble across this forum! Great to combine my two loves: gardening and beekeeping! I've kept bees for 6 years and I'm lucky enough to keep my hives at RHS Garden Rosemoor in sunny North Devon, UK. Rosemoor is well worth a visit and you can say hello to my bees. I'm very active in my local beekeeping association (North Devon Beekeepers) and I've just started a gardening club (The Jolly Gardeners Club) for 'ordinary' local gardeners to meet and share their gardens.

I don't have my own bees, but I recently got a job as a beekeeper at the local apiary. I'm a week in so far.

How did you get such a ''sweet'' job.

Well... I was enjoying it, but unfortunately found out I'm allergic to bees after being stung 7 times a few days ago. Got a bad reaction. So they let me go...

Really disappointed in the whole situation. I wanted it to work out.

Oh, no! What a pity.

Had fun working with the bees while it lasted. And I had the opportunity to teach incoming school trips about honeybees and help promote a positive attitude toward them. So there's that at least.

Where are you/your bees?
I have read of bee keepers in much warmer climates than my zone 5 and it seems to be different
currently I have very little left for the bees to forage on and have given them some sugar water .
