Understand Rosemary! I wish you the best of luck!
I used to buy mine from HD. Unfortunately, our weather is not as nice as yours so they all died out on me. (I am too lazy to wrap them for winter) Big Grin

Hello,

I'm wondering when my Don Juan will come out of dormancy. It's now April and my other roses are waking up but my Don Juan is still dormant.

Welcome to the forum @karlatannenb ! Where are you gardening? The duration of dormancy will depend upon your climate.

Don Juan may also just be slower than others in waking up. I have several that I thought were dead so dug them up to pitch only to find shoots underground forming for the season so promptly plopped them back in their holes with an apology for disturbing them. I checked these because I have several others that have fully leafed out for the season and these haven't. So I would give it some time still.

Thank you!!!! I will give him more time. I cannot wait to see it climb and bloom. This is my first Don Jaun. I got him last year. He didn't get any blooms but I figured the first year that might be normal

It can be normal. It really varies year to year and depends on weather. It's been up and down here and the ones I thought were dead are out in the open in the back. The ones that leafed out are closer to the house so have more residue heat.
