Howdy!

I recently acquired both coral honeysuckle and Mexican honeysuckle. Both have bright red berries now. I'd like to harvest some of the seeds and make me some more! I've seen conflicting advice as to when to pick the berries. I figured when they are nice and bright red but others have said to let dry on the vine. Anyone ever done this or have advice?

Thanks,
Larry

I just picked my first seeds a couple days ago.
Right or wrong I chose to pick them ripe because I didn't want to chance losing the few I had to any hungry birds.

there is also a Vines and Climbers forum might have more knowledgeable Honeysuckle members

Thanks. I picked them ripe but what I should have done is stratified the seeds first - I was in too much of a rush to sow. Fortunately I saved a couple and my plants should make some more I hope, but I guess I didn't expect this require stratification. Too excited I guess!
