I have a lot of yellow zinnia seed but don't know how it should be planted and grown. I am assuming this annual will like a lot of sun.

What I found is that they do need both the soil and air to be above 70°F (21°C) for them to germinate. You can do that either indoors or outdoors, both are fine. They do need a lot of sunlight indeed!

What they said about the temp is correct and they need water. Mine all sprouted up after a good couple of rains.

I love Zinnia's and have been growing the California Giants for a few years now. It all started with one little pack of seeds from the dollar tree. I saved enough seed the first year to fill a Maxwell House coffee can.

Every year I sow the seeds and they bloom and give my garden such enrichment. They are plants that make you smile. Nothing is better than a small arrangement in a basket to cheer someone up.
