I waited a couple years to see my "Princess Juliana" plants bloom and I'm afraid they aren't quite a match to the "real" PJ.

Sad

at first the blooms seemed correct but as they matured pink stigma/carpels emerged. In pics, PJ does not appear to have this coloration on its stigma/carpels

Anyone growing it? Do these blooms look incorrect to you too? (so disappointed. Have been wanting the real PJ forEVER).

I have seen PJ only in our Botanical Garden, not sure if it really this variety because sometimes tags are wrong and sometimes the source is not reliable. There is one plant of this peony in Botanical garden, very late bloomer with very full and heavy light pink flowers:

Anya - thank you so much.

good news: color and bloom timing on mine are correct.

bad news: mine doesn't have the same fullness as your pic

However, it's planted in a field impacted by this year's extreme wet. so fullness could be impacted.

will move to higher ground and monitor.

(still fear mine isn't right though!)

Cate, whatever you have there is really nice. Is it a fragrant one?

Tracey - i agree! it IS beautiful.

Great form, perfect lush color, good size and YES, wonderfully fragrant.

if I can't identify it in the next year or 2, will sell as a No Id. Because it really is a garden worthy plant, to be sure!
