We have been watching the weather channel to get some idea about Debby. So far here in the panhandle...about 30miles north of Panama City...it has been raining all morning. Wind hasn't been bad...a gust here and there. Sure hope it doesn't get bad as jeep trouble again. Yesterday when I went to crank it I ended up with the ignition thing-a-ma-jig IN MY HAND. Grumbling

It's picking up here in Fountain. Just moved some plants around..."troops" are gonna have to be on their own. The four dogs are starting to get a bit antsy...me thinks it will be a long night...or not. Momma Nature is a fickle old broad...she don't care what the weather guessers say...she dances to the beat of her own drum. We need rain, not a gully wash and the wind is NOT welcome Glare

Had about 8 inches of rain so far here so far. The retention pond in our back yard is full. It went from down 3' to full in just 2 days. It's going to be a wet few days I think!

No rain to speak of here yet today, but the wind has been gusting pretty good. It's very gloomy and we are able to turn off the AC Thumbs up

We had a big rain shower with lots of wind around 10 am, but now the sun is actually trying to peek through.

We had wind gusts and hard rain off and on yesterday. Last night seemed to be the worst of it so far for us, raining like a fire hose, and really windy. A few more squalls here this morning and gusty winds, but the sun has peeked through off and on since I got up. I have emptied my 5in. rain gauge twice so . . over 10in. of rain here!

This is when we are so thankful for our very sandy soil - it sure lets the water run through and drain fast! If it didn't our house would flood for sure, as on two sides the ground slopes towards the house.

It really is nice outside, but seems every time I get into something in the garden it starts to rain again. Then stops as soon as I retreat indoors! Small branches down, but no damage as far as I can see.

WOW it is still raining. What the rain did not get last week the wind got yesterday. It took out alot of my pepper plants and my moringa. Guess it is time to pack up the veggies and start over again in the fall.

Go figure I just finished my drip irrigation project in the 'Pot Ranch' just in time for this tropical storm. Only run 2 times this summer. The weather has done the rest of my watering for me. All the money invested and not needed this summer.

Paul - you usually don't need irrigation in Florida in the summer. But come November you will.

Well, my garage got flooded. I really need to regrade the area around the back door to the garage. There is only a 2 in clearance between the door and the ground and because of the grading problem (due to dogs redistributing the dirt), the water runs towards the door. I usually go out and dig a trench to carry the water to the side of the yard where it runs down but didn't get to it in time. My big winter cassia was torn up really badly and will need a severe trimming but other than some pots tossed around and a big tear in my shade tent cover, everything is good here. Just want to dry out for a bit.

That's a bummer, Jan, but I know your area got the brunt of all the rain fall so it sounds like you got off ok.
I assume it is dry now? Haven't seen a speck of rain in Naples today Hurray! I was getting depressed with the grey weather!

No damage here, but in spite of the rain we got (not much compared to others) stuff is already looking sad. Grumbling Grumbling I don't want to drag hoses yet

It is drying out a bit. I went out after work last night and started clearing out the debris and trimming up the cassia. One of my little ponds filled up to the top and one of my turtle apparently went overboard and is roaming free somewhere. I looked around the area but couldn't find him but it's been several days so who knows where he got to.

We had a few interesting encounters recently......
Driving through Homestead, two tornadoes were dipping down in front of us; thank fully they did not cause any damage. But quite a sight!!
