Picked cucumbers today and Sungold, Grape and Juliet tomatoes. Wish the regular sized ones would hurry up and get red. Hilarious! Whistling

They are all so beautiful. No way could I find a favorite. I sure do wish I was closer to you, I'd bring my big chunk of Sharp Vermont Cheese, a loaf of good french bread and you and I would enjoy you little tomatos while looking at your garden.

Will have to try some, Rita. If they are as eyecatching in person as in that photo... Big Grin

I also have problems with Echinaceas and, like you, Cindy, I think it is the clay soil. This year, I made a slightly raised circle with lots of sandy topsoil mixed in the clay for three new ones. Will see how it goes.

I've got a coneflower that looks identical to the picture. The color is exactly the same, and it makes my jaw drop every time I look at it! It came up on it's own from seed, so I think it's a hybrid of some sort. It's in super good soil, but I've got others growing in really bad soil. I've got several growing in another bed that is really sandy, and they have done fantastic!

I like coneflowers. I tried a bunch of the newer hot colored ones like Tomato Soup but they all die over winter on me so I gave up. These do well, came back after winter just fine.

Just finished my visit through your July garden. Wonderful! I've been popping Juliet tomatoes into my mouth every day too. Will be planting it again. Lovely color on Watermelon Luminosity. Pow Wow Wild Berry is a stunner. Need to add that one next year.

Thank you Susan! Really I just discovered the grape tomatoes and also Sungold this year. Cherry tomatoes I have had in the past were ok, but nothing I would get excited about. I love Sungold and I much prefer the grape types over the cherry types I have had in the past.

Rita, I bought Tomato Soup last year, and I couldn't believe it when it came back! I also got Tangerine Dreams and it came back too, much to my surprise! I was warned about them not being hardy, so I mulched the heck out of them, and they survived the winter, and are doing fantastic! That may be because we had a very dry winter, but the cold temps were still awful.

Here's Tangerine Dreams

I buy all my tomatoes, and I really love those juicy grape tomatoes in salads. Someone told me that since they're seedless, people who have digestive problems with seeds can eat them with no problem. Just a bit of trivia...

Betty, grape tomatoes are not seedless. But I am growing the grape types in my garden because I got a taste for them by buying them in the supermarket over the winter. Much better than cherry tomatoes and were actually very tasty for supermarket tomatoes.
