Took a nice drive to Independence, Ia for a gathering of hostaphiles at the In the Country Garden and Gifts, nice display gardens and over 400 var of hosta, plus succulents and other shade and sun perennials. Bob Solberg a hosta hybridizer from Green Hill Farms put on a 2 hour talk about Hostas in pots, hostas in Japan and some new hostas he is working on. Also picked a few new hostas: Kempen Sky High, Twice as Nice Country Sun Drop, Sugar Plum, Lemon Snap and Road Rage. Just what I needed!

It was great, all the pics were of non hosta plants, the majority of the display hosta had been riddled by slugs.
