@shizen Daphne ,My earliest iris blooms are at the beginning of October, main bloom in November, and a few stragglers early December. By then we ought to be busy milking and processing ( yoghurt & cheese making). We have had occasional very late lambing in December. The main lambing is September. By October most lambs have been weaned ( otherwise no milk production). Spring means a sudden momentum in outdoor activities. We start our vegetable seedings inside our warm seedling mini greenhouse, this month, so by mid September quite a few need to be placed in the cool greenhouse. We expect to have our first ripe tomatoes by early December.Always inside.

Such a cute lamb, thank you for sharing!! I would love a pet sheep, but I think the goats keep me busy enough right now Smiling

Today I harvested SO many dwarf seed pods. I decided to focus more on dwarf hybridizing this year than the talls. I made over 300 crosses and way more took than I expected.

Liz, We share very similar daily routines...just only six months delayed.... Big Grin We make our own cream cheese. However we expect to add mascarpone this season, in our very small scale milk operation. I want to add mozzarella to our routines plus traditional Armenian thread cheese. We'll see. Milk sheep are just like goats in terms of care. The milk is almost as fatty and thick as goat's milk but the taste is almost indistinguishable from cow's milk. Do you make any blue cheese?

300 crosses? That is a whole lot of seeds that could possibly sprout. Blinking And making that many crosses also means you had a tremendous amount of dwarf blooms. Hurray! They must really like their new home.

Besides being the iris queen you must be superhuman because I can't figure out how you ever find time to sleep with all your activities!

Interesting emphasis. Smiling

I meant the superhuman comment as a compliment to how much was achieved in the last year!

Can't wait to see some more of the beauties you crossed Liz.
