Sounds like you have been busy. I cannot imagine the beds looking empty.

My pots are covered deep in leaves.. need to get those off them. I had planed to cover the pots in netting to keep the leaves and critters out. Maybe I will get a chance next week. I hope, I hope, I hope.

I'll take some photos later this week when things dry out a bit. We can only do what we can do.
None of my beds got done last year because I went to work. Well they are wall to wall semps this fall. Sad

Lynn,

Well after I gathered over 100 seed heads from this summer's crosses I decided I needed LOTS of room. So I'm in the process of constructing TWO 6' X 15' beds. In fact I'm off to the nursery to order another load of soil in a few minutes as what I had only filled half of one of the beds! Anyway, I know this should be awesome beds of seedlings and hopefully some amazing seedlings.

We got a DELUGE here in Salem about 5PM last evening. Had rehearsal last night and it was still raining most of the evening.

It poured here also. On my way out to see if it damaged any newly planted semps.

I will have to come over and see those beds when you finish them. That is going to be most amazing. Where will you locate them?

Lynn,

Where the new bed? I got rid of another strip of lawn to make these beds. It was a good flat spot so the bricks will come out even and not have to go up and down hills. The beds have 8" of soil above the level of the lawn, edged with pavers. anyway, I HOPE that is enough bed as I REALLY went crazy crossing. I'm betting there are 10K seeds! Holy obsessive breeder Batman!

Just put in a new bed for beardless irises too. Of course I have the American Iris Society coming next spring to tour my garden. Would be good to have a few irises too!

Yes, that would be a disappointment to the iris fans if you didn't have great things for them to see.
I can't even imagine having that many seedlings. Blinking

Yes I think the '16 clinic could be lots of fun if I can get those 10K seedlings all to maturity and looking good. That will be a challenge just to pick out the keepers in a patch that big and with all the interesting crosses made this year. This will be my first crop of seedlings involving 'Borscht', 'Positively Glowing' and a few others of my recent new introductions. One can only imagine what fun things will come from those plants. And of course there will be all the other beds too.

Odd that 'Olivette' doesn't want to grow for you Greg. I'll give you another start when you come the clinic next spring. As Lynn has found, sometimes there are ones that don't liked to be move any time but early spring. That may be one.

Kevin that is so sweet! I'll be looking forward to an Olivette from you (and I'll "remind" you several times too I'm sure! Or as MR says "nagging") Rolling on the floor laughing
