Celebrating All Things Plants

By Sharon
July 4, 2012

It's been a little like Jack's beanstalk, you know, the rapid growth of All Things Plants. It's only been a year, but just look at what the year has brought to gardeners all around the world. Let's begin this article now with a word from the top.

It's hard to believe that it's been a year already, but oh my what a fun year of growing it's been! This is the BEST place to meet like minded gardener's, to learn about all kinds of plants and gardens ... and have so much fun in the process! I truly enjoy reading about so many plants and their people! My favorite feature of ATP is the growing database! The format is the best I've ever seen and makes it easy for novice growers like myself to learn!

I don't have to wish for continued success for ATP because I know as long as Dave is at the helm (with his lovely wife and family as support) the foundation of ATP will never crumble ... it will only continue to grow and prosper. Because of the Whitinger family ATP is the BEST gardening site anywhere and I am so grateful for everyone I've met here!

Happy Birthday ATP!! I don't have a cake but I think I'll have some Moo-llennium Crunch Ice Cream to celebrate! Green Grin!

Moo-llennium Crunch has been a favorite for awhile but Blue Bell has another flavor called "Happy Tracks" that's becoming even more of a favorite of mine! I couldn't find it at the grocery store or Wal-Mart on my last shopping trip so Moo-crunch and Mint Chocolate Chip jumped into the basket. Green Grin!

Oh wow. Chocolate, caramel, and all those nuts.
My town doesn't carry Blue Bell, this calls for a road trip.
This little cup of yogurt just won't do it. Sad

Blue Bell makes the most awesome Ice Cream ... it's been our #1 brand for a long time. Scroll down this page for the list of their flavors:

http://bluebell.com/what_were_...

I like ice cream but my choice for a night time snack is a bowl of cereal. I don't like cereal in the morning (unless it's oatmeal), I prefer it at night.
My husband on the other hand must have ice cream every night, I don't think he's gone one night without it in 30 years! Recently he's taken a liking to the Blue Bell flavor called Century Sundae, although it doesn't matter what flavor the ice cream is, or whether it has cookies, chocolate chips, coconut etc. included ... he still has to add chocolate chips or candy, or put the ice cream on top of cookies in a bowl. Green Grin! The only other person I've ever known to like ice cream more than my husband was my mom.

Sharon ... do you have Wal-Mart nearby? All of the Wal-Mart's here carry Blue Bell.

Oooh Sharon ... 10 miles away?? That's kinda far. I'd ask your local grocer if it's possible for them to start carrying the Blue Bell brand.

I just went back to their website and downloaded coupon software and printed a $1 off coupon ....Yay!

Sharon, I'm pretty sure you will only find Blue Bell in the south, which last I looked, you are Whistling Green Grin!

I had never heard of Blue Bell til we moved here. It is a very good ice cream.

Hank's sister and her hubby are back in OH now but they fell in love with Blue Bell when they lived in Texas. It's a real treat for them to have Blue Bell when they come here to visit.

As for me, I love the UDF (United Dairy Farmers) and Graeter's from Cincinnati area.

Thanks Vic! Next time I'm at Walmart or Kroger's, I'll look for it.
(Grumble. I'll have to take ice and a cooler to get it home. It would never make it in this heat otherwise. The local grocery is only 3 short blocks from my house and even driving, frozen things are dripping before I get them home. Unbelievable heat still here.)
