This is one of my favorite landscape grasses. I mostly use 'Blonde Ambition' for it's height and abundant flowering. The truly unique flowers make it stand out and when they ripple in the wind it's magical.
A new variety that I'm trying out is 'Pestanas de Angeles' or 'Angel's Eyelashes'. It's a shorter variety and perfect for narrower spaces or in front of taller grasses or perennials. It could also be planted in short groundcovers for a meadow look.

I've seen the Blond Ambition on High Country Gardens and have been tempted. I have plenty of a NOID. Survives without water but gets beautifully lush if irrigated. I trim mine from time to time in walking areas but leave some in clumps and around the edges for winter interest. Even where I trample it while working on various projects, it comes back next season.
