I love the smell of geraniums. Brings back such wonderful memories of my childhood. They grew like weeds where I grew up. : )

In Santa Fe, it was 14 years of Spring where I had to find the Red, Red geraniums; not the rasberry red, nor the orange red, but the Red, Red. Had to have them in big pots at the front door...That was then and now the semps keep me busy, but even though I don't have them around to smell, I can at least:

Oh Bev, that is beautiful. Lovey dubby
But why don't you at least have a token geranium growing in your zone 9?

I have one that I overwintered under the roof of my deck last winter. I gave it tiny drinks about once a month until things started warming up this spring. It is huge this year. I'm going to do the same thing again and see if it will make it through another winter.

No token geranium here because there's so much greenery and flowers around the neighborhood. In the Southwest the mjuted colors around (adobe, sand, blue sky, sage, etc) was a great back drop for the RED, RED. IN this zone 9B and where I am in life now, it is moving towards a focus of nurturing mainly my favorites, sempervivums.
