It snowed on V-day, so we didn't do a heck of a lot. We'd gotten steaks outta the freezer, DH grilled them to perfection last night. We basically stayed in our jammies all day.. best kind of days, you know what I mean!
Valentine's day for us has never been a "big" day.. I guess every day for us is Valentine's day. I know, I know, cheesy, huh. However, we IM each other throughout the day w/little nibblets of stuff & we always send a sideways heart (closed arrow 3) and a "love you" at least 5-10 times a day. We end each phone call to each other w/a Love You, no matter what the conversation was about. I'm pretty lucky to have a really sweet guy for a DH.. and I really do mean the Dear part. We just celebrated last month our 14th year of marriage and, as our joke goes, we haven't killed each other yet. But there's always tomorrow! I still have the first card he ever gave me.. it's describes our relationship perfectly: The outside has a little cartoony rabbit that says something along the lines of "Don't be offended, but I want to tell you something warm and mushy". Of course, you're thinking it's a perfect "I Love You", but, you open it, and there's a cereal bowl & in it, it says, "Oatmeal". That's our relationship, warm & mushy, just like oatmeal. Which I hate, with a passion. Yuck.
Anyways, Valentine's day has never been the "day that you show your love" as Kay Jewelers or "He went to Jared" or the Mojo box from Hedelberg, or any of those jewelry places. Chocolate is a nice gift, but I don't eat that much (I usually end up throwing away, like I did last night, Christmas chocolates for Valentine's day..). I can't have cut flowers because I have a cat who'll eat them.. I love Conan too much to bring in flowers like that. So, we do "different" things for each other on Valentine's day. This year, I got him a new controller for his PS3 (what else to get? Something that'll encourage him to ignore me for days.. of course). And he got me Diamond. I've never gotten diamonds for V-day.. heck, I own 1 diamond and I never wear it. Don't care for diamonds.
This is Diamond. She's my Valentine's day gift this year. Isn't she gorgeous?
So what did everyone else do for V-day?
