I have had Startle for about 4 years now and in all that time I have not set a pod or its pollen has never worked for me. I have heard that it is nocturnal so that may be the reason.

I have been so blessed lately. FFE on seedling Sweet Ole Man X Fringy. It is real small and cannot get the camera to get a good color. It is a deeper orange than this but not much, Nice throat and I am hoping it improves greatly. Thumb of 2012-07-29/rebloomnut/0d62ce

Thanks everyone. I thought they had great color too. I got such a great surprise. The daughter of the lady that cleans for me asked if I would teach her to hybridize daylilies. Today she came over for her first hands on and we made a few crosses and I explained quit a bit about the plant and what is required to make crosses and had her record everything. She even took pictures,. I gave her 5 Dip.. plants I was going to sell as I want her to have her own plants and feel more like she is a part of it. Her mother later told me she went right to her room when she got home to read a book I sent with her and that she was just completely excited.
I am so very happy to hear this and to do it,

Also I admired a seedling of Mick Morry's so much and je has been so kind as to tell me he is naming it after me and today he pulled it and put it into the select area with mt name on the tag. I was so excited and blown away. Life can be so good and the people around you are the ones that make it that way.

Stephanie, I can think of nothing that would touch my heart as much. You are truly blessed and most obviously a blessing to others to have someone name a daylily after you. I would be jumping up and down also!! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! :hurray

OH, the daylily is stunning and I'd love to have one when it comes up for sale. That color yellow is a favorite and that eye is amazing!

Stephanie, that is so very exciting and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that daylily. The colors are so clean and vibrant. Please post here when Mick introduces it. Those are my hubby's favorite colors in a daylily.
