Thread OP

Can anyone tell me what might be causing these spots? I can't remember what variety this is, but it gets the required amount of water and a couple of hours of afternoon sun. My other varieties in the same bed are fine... it's just this one that's having problems.

Melt-out is common on white-centred leaves. Best preventive is to plant in more shade, but then many hostas like some sun. This year, if you've had the kind of weather we had (horrible wet, cold spring followed by very hot and very dry weather), we're seeing more of that problem. I grow 'Morning Light' on the east side of my hose for that reason and most years it does OK, but this is what it looked like last week.

Yours MIGHT do better without the afternoon sun, but would probably like some morning sun.

ViolaAnn... thank you for the reply and info. Yes, it has been very hot and dry here (we live in Georgia). If it worsens, I'll move it to another location with less sun. I'm just glad that it's not insects or some fungal blight that's causing it.

Again, thank you for the info!
