Thank you for the wonderful pictures-I have just returned from Michigan where I saw this little tree (almost looks like a big shrub)
I live near Richmond Virginia and would like to have one pictures by 'foraygardengirl'-I have not seen this particular dogwood in our garden centers.
learning alot

Wonderful! The Pagoda or Alternate-leaf Dogwood is native down the Appalachia region that includes Richmond as part of its native range that is also around the Great Lakes. It is a handsome bushy tree usually, though I have seen a few with one trunk and more tree-like. I have a Facebook page called Aspen, Birch, and Ornamental Trees where you can download some photos from various albums. I think I have the Pagoda Dogwood in an album by itself, rather than with Flowering Dogwood. Rick
