ha!
A hasty google of 'forget botanist' got me a 'red forget me not watch' gift item for $120 and plus..
good find, Danita.
The word 'forget' in google search is frustrating google and me from going any further.
Plant it and they will come.

I found this
Thumb of 2021-05-27/Gina1960/d5b9fb

Looks like the Mysterious 'Monsieur Forget' was a gentleman adventurer collector, not a botanist, as the botanist who actually described the plant was not him, but named the plant after him for his discovery

Yeah the botanist who actually described the plant to science in 1906 was Nicholas Edward Brown. Perhaps he and Mon. Forget were friends

unfortunately my Ace hardware does not carry those nice pins..pity. i'll keep looking though.
fortunately i am currently sprouting some more tropical seeds. what fun!
Surinam Cherry is on the way..and i just stuck in plumped Royal Poinciana 6! seeds into pots..one already send out a root down! in just 3 days (and 2 days of soaking after a dunk in almost boiling water).
Gina, you mentioned that you got 2 seeds sev months ago: did they sprout?
how did you treat yours?
i did extensive search on keeping it in pot on bonsai sites and am planning to do that for a few years at least while i just have a balcony...

I did get some Royal Poinciana seeds last season. I had 2 of 5 germinate. One is a small tree now maybe 2 ft tall and I gave the other to a friend. I just planted mine, didn;t do anything else to them

well, i've been wondering on the street with giant Poinciana's in Miami for years, and i've never found any seeds in dropped pods. and it's not like there are people picking them up...nobody cares ... so, where do they all go? it's a mystery.
but this past May finally i spotted a cracked pod with seeds. they could be 6 mo old for all i know...so i took extra effort with soaking in hot water, nicking skin, etc.
so 1 sprouted in 1 week, that's good, the rest we'll know soon.

I always pick up seeds when I am in a place where they are just falling on the ground. Sometimes I get plants, sometimes I don;t but its fun!
