Any one else see the announcement that Hollingsworth took over Khlem's herbaceous peony breeding program?

I did see that. Kim Bremer also posted that Nate (Solaris) got most of their Woody Peonies.

LG; I am so happy to see you mentioned that Nate got most Khlem's TPs stocks. I might be able to see more and more TPs collection in Nate's Farm next year. Hurray!

I saw the news about Hollingsworth but not about Nate. I never ordered anything form Songsparrow because of shipping cost to AK and now with my travel arrangement I will get 4 of their peonies. If I knew Hollingsworth would buy it I probably won't be in a hurry Whistling

Having peonies in hands of those who grow peonies is the best case scenario. Tilling up peonies for soybeans worst case scenario.

I will miss Klehm's SongSparrow, not only for its peonies and other beautiful plants, but also for the wonderfully kind and knowledgeable staff that I hope land somewhere where they are appreciated and valued.

I have word from a very good source that Hollingsworth did not buy out Song Sparrow's peonies. Rather, they were one of a few places that purchased some of Roy's seedlings. As I understand it, 2020 will have a catalog at Song Sparrow and the peonies will still be there. How long they intend to do this, I don't know. Not sure if anyone does. But to clarify, Hollingsworth did not buy them out.

Both Erica and Tanis are very pleasant to speak to and answer any questions asked, I also hope when/if they need to look for other employment they find something easily that can be a good placement for them.

While on the phone with Erica, I asked her about where their website said it would be new in 2020.
I mentioned Hollingsworth ( I forgot to mention Solaris) and she told me Hollingsworth had 'only bought a part of the nursery stock'.
So they would have a smaller limited selection but that yes they would still have tree peonies in 2020 Hurray!
