Me too, thanks for reminding me. Mine is showing a little bit of white, but hasn't popped yet. I'm so anxious not to miss its one night of glory. It's raining out there and I'm dashing in and out every hour to check on the thing.

Terrible pics, using my phone with no flash.

There is a large one near me that has about 300 buds on it..... I must remember to carry my camera when I go for my bike ride so as not to miss that event!

Does anyone know the name? The leaves on this plant are flat.

It's lovely, did it smell good, too? Are the leaves fleshy like a cactus?

Mine is still thinking about it.

Hetty, that bloom sure looks like Epiphyllum oxypetalum which has flat leaves: Queen of the Night (Epiphyllum oxypetalum)

Edited to add: I have a very sensitive sense of smell but it's weird because I can't seem to detect much fragrance on them and yet my husband and everyone else say the flowers are Extremely Fragrant! I've found the same with the Evening Glory flower (Ipomoea alba) ... everyone says they smell so good and I can't smell anything. Sad

Spot on Lin! Thanks.

It was raining when I took the picture plus the bloom had half closed up already so that is probably why there was little scent.

Hetty: I wish we could get some of your rain over this side of the state, it's pretty dry here again. Actually some area's up this way have received rain but it seems like every afternoon the clouds and thunder come and we may get a sprinkle if we are lucky. Storms predicted this afternoon ... hope we get rain this time!

What time of night did you take the photo's of your Epiphyllum? The blooms on my plant don't seem to be fully open until sometime between 10:30 p.m. - midnight, and by daybreak they are sagging down and droopy like my first photo below. I've had my plant for many years and had no idea what it was or that it was a night bloomer until someone on DG identified it for me a few years ago. I learned to watch for the buds to begin that upturn which signals they are getting ready to bloom.

My plant has one spent bloom that I must have missed last night. There are five or six buds that should be opening tonight so I will have to remember to keep watch tonight to get a few pictures. Some of the leaves on my plant are fried from too much direct sunlight ... I'm thinking of planting it in the ground to let it climb one of the palm trees.

Well, you asked.... I had watched this plant evening after evening, until at 9 pm I took the first pictures of the buds opening. I went inside and - since I had to get up at 5 am the next morning, asked DH to go and take a picture before he came to bed. Put the camera and the flashlight right in front of him....

Yeah, you guessed it. He forgot.

So - my first picture is from 9 pm and the next is from 5.30 am.... one time a year this things blooms and I don't get a good picture! Grumbling

I'd say yours is ready tonight, if not, then surely tomorrow.

Yep, I have a feeling the remaining buds will open tonight! My plant usually blooms in June, again in July and sometimes again in August. Most of the time I don't remember to go out and take pictures ... hopefully I will remember tonight.

Not the greatest pictures but these are from a couple of weeks ago (June 23rd) at 10:22 p.m:
