Saw a healthy black squirrel up in Bellingham the other day. I was excited. My son (who lives in Bellingham) says they are very common now. It's my understanding they are the native squirrels, glad to see them making a come back.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

It is my understanding that the black squirrels are not a separate breed of the natives, just a different coloration. I spotted a black squirrel a few years back, but not since. This year, my mother has a squirrel with a black tuft tail frequenting her yard.
