A friend has asked me to post a message thread to see if anyone out there has "Miriam Steel". Here is the AIS info:

'Miriam Steel' (Schreiner, R. 1972) Sdlg. D 1147-C. TB, 35" (89 cm), M. Ruffled pure white self; whitish beard. Cup Race X Y217-A. Schreiner 1973. HM 1977.

This friend of mine is in the Iris business in central Pennsylvainia. Apparently the grand daughter for who the iris is named for is looking to accquire this cultivar. The grand daughter went to my friend because she used to carry it. She no longer does. Since this is a "Schreiner" introduction, I asked Carlos of Brighton Park Iris, the Schreiner expert if he had it. He does not have it!

So I am asking the community for help in locating this cultivar. I can offer a trade to whomever has this. I am looking for three rhizomes at the least and would like to see more if possible (I want to provide for my friend's customer, my friend, & Carlos).

Please help me provide this Historic iris to the family of the person for whom it is named.

THANKS!!

Lucy-You know, I did not ask them. I made an assumption that they would no longer have this cultivar since it is almost 40 years old. I will send them a note.

Might have a historic bed of their own stuff. Worth a try.

As expected, Schreiner's does not have it. Bummer.
