I know one of the database moderators will know how to sort this out ... if it needs sorting. I just entered information for a plant that I've always known as Clerodendrum ugandense: Blue Glorybower (Rotheca myricoides subsp. myricoides)

Upon googling and reading I see that the KEW site states that C. ugandense is a synonym for Rotheca myricoides subsp. myricoides: http://apps.kew.org/wcsp/qsear...

The following is copied and pasted from the KEW site:
Clerodendrum ugandense Prain, Bot. Mag. 135: t. 8235 (1909).
This name is a synonym.
Accepted Name: Rotheca myricoides subsp. myricoides.

There is an entry in the ATP database to R. myricoides subsp. myricoides: but no information listed as yet.

Should the info and photo's for Clerodendrum ugandense be transferred over to the entry for Rotheca myricoides subsp. myricoides and have the entry for C. ugandense deleted? I tried to make the proposal but got a message stating the plant already exists ... so, if it needs to be switched maybe one of the moderators can do it.

It doesn't take much to rattle my old brain and get me confused. Smiling

In cases like this, when you have one plant with lots of data details, comments and photos, and another one that is empty, it's better to delete the empty one and then edit the name of the one with all the photos.

I'll do that in this case.

LOL, it was just luck that I straightened it out. I've always known the plant as Clerodendrum ugandense but when googling for information about it I got confused. When I searched at ITIS for it nothing came back, then I went to the KEW site, typed in C. ugandense and found that name listed as a synonym for the other. I never know what's what with some of these plants but I do like to have my own plant list as accurate as possible and I know we all want the ATP database to be the same. I knew you'd be able to help. Smiling

I really appreciate all the effort, help and sharing of knowledge here at ATP! ❀
