I didn't place an order with them for this fall but found several to add to my collection in the end of season sale, ended up with Valkyrie, Pink Vanguard (replacement), Circus Circus (replacement), Lovebirds, Henry St Clair and Yellow Emperor.

They also added Smith Family Jewel, which is one of my favorite Itohs. Here are photos of mine.

The "Smiths" have better flowering in the South. Haven't had really great luck in zone 5. There are some nice ones I wish did well here, but just don't.

I feel your pain, Tracey. Down here "Very Late" peonies rarely open.

All of the growers don't test everywhere and they don't always know. I didn't realize that until ten years ago or do. I enjoy growers in the north the most, as the breeding definitely favors my growing climate here. 10 years ago, I really thought ITOH breeding was all the same, but growing has shown me that is definitely not the case, whether it is different breeding parentage or what, what is bred in the south as compared to the north, just doesn't quite cut the mustard, so to speak.

Here are my three woody peony seedlings that were 3/$60.

My best growers are Garden Treasure and Bartzella, plants grown without the use of tissue culture. Hillary is pretty nice too.

Very interesting, Tracey.

I have a nice sized Rosy Prospects, planted in 2016, that has never bloomed. It is next to a Takara Itoh that blooms every year.

I sure hope in 2020 it blooms!
