I cannot find my original posts about my cast iron fountain and my concerns for the drainage of the semps in it.

I finally got up my nerve and removed all the semps growing in it and found that in fact it did have three big holes.

I had forgotten CD had drilled nice size holes in the bottom. I have been protecting it from possible rain with a cover. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

I remembered he drilled holes in a large Chinese import fish bowl but forgot he had drilled the fountain as well.

Now I don't know whether to replant the fountain or not. I fear the plants may or may not survive the transfer process.

I will try to get a new picture of their habitat (a large plastic bowl.) Many of my plants are really struggling as I try to give them enough water but not too much, and keeping them out of the intense sun. There is little I can do about the high temperatures.

I find myself thinking, as does many a new mother caring for her babies, I "cannot" do this.

It does take a bit of mental stamina to care for these "easy to grow" plants, but perhaps the stress is due to the unusual weather we are having this year.

I know everyone is in the same boat across the country. Is there any place having moderate weather this year (no storms, floods, heat etc?)

Hurray! The Pacific Northwest, coastal and inland valleys are having very moderate weather this summer. That will probably change in August.
However it is dry here now. I have started watering.

Just like anything new to us, there is a learning curve. Once we have figured it out (what works in our situation), it becomes quite easy. As an example, look at the great success tabby and picklepuff have growing semps in your area. You to will become a pro at it. Thumbs up

I had forgotten that he drilled holes in that container. Rolling on the floor laughing

Think some sprinkler water came over the fence into the basket.

Some babies sharing the same hanging basket seem OK, but the S. Wendy also in bad shape.

It does look like they may have steam cooked with to much water.
Remove anything that is rotting (squishy), maybe drying with a fan blowing on them to remove excess water. Keep in the shade. I can see standing water in the Jovibarba hirta 'Borealis.
