I cannot find my original posts about my cast iron fountain and my concerns for the drainage of the semps in it.
I finally got up my nerve and removed all the semps growing in it and found that in fact it
did have three big holes.
I had forgotten CD had drilled nice size holes in the bottom. I have been protecting it from possible rain with a cover.
I remembered he drilled holes in a large Chinese import fish bowl but forgot he had drilled the fountain as well.
Now I don't know whether to replant the fountain or not. I fear the plants may or may not survive the transfer process.
I will try to get a new picture of their habitat (a large plastic bowl.) Many of my plants are really struggling as I try to give them enough water but not too much, and keeping them out of the intense sun. There is little I can do about the high temperatures.
I find myself thinking, as does many a new mother caring for her babies, I "cannot" do this.
It does take a bit of mental stamina to care for these "easy to grow" plants, but perhaps the stress is due to the unusual weather we are having this year.
I know everyone is in the same boat across the country. Is there any place having moderate weather this year (no storms, floods, heat etc?)
