When everyone is ordering seeds and plants from catalogs I hope you'll post your orders. I always like to see what everyone is growing. And it gives me ideas too.

I was hoping to order from High Mowing Seeds. I had planned on Annina eggplant. So pretty!!

And a hard to find sweet pepper called Belcanto. Last season they had it. Sold out. This year not listed. So my order was going to be the two items. Now not going to order from High Mowing as they don't have both items. Bummer.

I have the $25 coupon from Gurneys if you spend $50. I wonder if anybody will be ordering from them.

The last time I ordered anything from a catalog was Red Robin tomato seeds and I lost them!
I think Burpee has a beautiful catalog but what bugs me is that they use the term "sweet" so many times to describe vegetables. I don't want sugar, I want vegetables!

That would be dates in my household. When I crave sweet, I pop one of two dates. So delicious. Better than eating candy.

I lean towards apricots in the dried fruit category, and figs are good, too!

I won't be buying tomato and pepper seeds for myself. I will buy them for the plant sale. That's why I monitor what everyone here is growing, and how well their plants are producing. Always on the lookout for great plants that produce well under a variety of weather conditions. However, I have decided on many new varieties for myself because of y'all. I can buy most of these as plants; already checked my plant supplier. She has most of these, or if I want, I can buy the seed and send it to her, for a fee she will grow the plants!

I know, I sound extremely lazy, but that time of the year is very stressful for me. When I give up chair of the plant sale, I will have more time to grow my plants from seed. This will probably be my last year as chair; it is time to move on to other things, like putting in beehives.

I don't have a whole lotta space to plant in, but I plan my growing season like I've got acres and acres. I have more seeds than I could use in 10 growing seasons in my own garden, so I don't need to order anything. But when the new Baker Creek catalog comes out I'll inevitably find a must have... or 12. Most of which I won't grow until the 2021 growing season because I purchase from Baker Creek at the Planting Festival in May. Their seeds are just $2 per envelope in their seed store during the festival. By the time I get them and get them started, it's too late in the season to use them, so they have to wait for the following season.

The new things I'm most excited about growing this year are
Chinese Python Snake Bean
Barry's Crazy Cherry Tomatoes
Early Purple Sprouting Broccoli
Holly Hocks
Cocks Comb
Cardoon

Lol, no. But I do love Laura! I wanted to be her when I was a little girl. I can NOT get enough Little House everything.

I was born and raised in the city (or great big town, depending on who you ask) but I've always wanted to be in the woods like Laura, or on a mountain side like Heidi. Over the years I've fallen more in love with gardening and bees and chickens and such. We'll be making our move to some land in the next year or so. My life just seems to become wilder and wilder as time goes by.

Welcome! Shari! How lucky you are to be able to be able to go to the Baker Creek planting festival! I have a friend that goes from time to time, she said I could go with her. They have fabulous seeds.
