Hi there,
I have just one Adenium plant. I have taken good care of it for a few month already. It has a long branch, a pear-size caudex and two twin-like small branches from its caudex. Not flowers yet. I was looking at some pictures over the internet and I have seen some fascinating plants full of everything. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with my plant but I wanted to know how those tree happen?

Thx (PICTURES ARE NOT MINE. THEY ARE ON THE WEB)

under the right conditions - adenium will flower in the first season

to get those "right conditions" - adenium need warmth, plenty of light, frequent watering and nutrients .....

the best time of year for that to happen is during the summer months

the winter months are the dormant season ....
during the winter months - water less - do not fertilize - never allow plant to sit in water - and never allow to freeze

to get a plant to bloom like the one in the picture:

1) branch pruning (prune in the spring)
pruning back adenium forces new growth - from a single stem tip removal, anywhere from 1 to 5 new stems will emerge - (pinch out leaves that obstruct other stems) ....
the more stem tips you have on a single plant - the more flowers you will have - as flower buds form at the end of stems

2) to get the bottom portion of the plant to look like the one in the picture:

to get the bonsai look ...with lots of exposed roots or the "gnarled" look

every season lift the plant higher than where it was in the pot - lift plant, back-fill with enough potting media to raise the caudex about 1" ...do this every spring until you are happy with the results

Thank you so much for your feedback/advices. Awesome!
I will post a picture of my long necked Adenium and its "cheerleader - pom-poms" (the tiny Thank You! branches it has down) I would like to know how much I should prune it.
I live in Miami, FL, so no too cold temperatures around.

Thank You! deepsouth
