I have had this golden pothos for years. The past year I put it on top of a dresser because it is out control. Not that I mind Smiling It is right by a window that gets north facing sunlight. The variation is turning white and will not stop growing. It was 6 feet long and I had to trim it. Is this normal for it turn white in sunlight? The top part is still golden a bit, but the vines are turning more white and green. Again, not that I mind, just curious. :)

Golden Pothos (Epipremnum aureum 'Marble Queen') has differing amounts of white in the leaves. Your plant is lovely and it sounds like it is quite happy under your care!

Thank you! I have the marble queen too Smiling I just got another one that is whiter than the marble queen, I think I saw it is called a snow queen? I'm just stumped as to why the golden color is turning white. I dont mind, the variation is amazing.

New varieties of Epipremnum aureum are all just chance mutations. Since the 'golden' one has genes for both yellow and white, sometimes there can be a preponderance of one color over another.

A friend of mine is fond of saying 'Reversion is only one mutation away' (meaning a variegated plant can turn green again) but the reverse is also true....'A new variety may also be just one mutation away'.
