Is anyone interested to participate in a Color Series thread? Perhaps we can start the thread after Christmas or before depending on what everyone's schedule is. Please let me know of your interest and dates that work for you. Thanks

Hey Karen, I'm a newbie - I am not sure what a Color Series is. I have a solid art background and mostly understand color theory - I even hope to paint some of my cut flowers at some point.

Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Top, the Color Series is not that complicated or theoretical at all though your color theory and solid art background will certainly add interest and flair to the discussion. They are just color theme threads where pics of peony flowers of a particular color are shared in the threads for viewing enjoyment during the dreary days of winter.

I think there is good interest for the series to proceed.

This is my plan. I will start a new color thread every 3-4 days. Here are the color categories and will be started in the following order:

Purple: all shades of purple, lavender, and lilac
Peach: peach, apricot, orange, copper, amber
Yellow
Coral
Red
White
Pink
Interesting Foliage - new category this year

The Series will begin this Saturday, Dec. 14 - hopefully enough time from now till then for everyone to review their precious stash of photos. Please gather your good photos of peonies and let's start sharing them this weekend. Current and past years photos are all acceptable. Not sure if I should put a limit on the number of photos per category. Maybe 12 best or 20 best photos per category? What do you all think? Please let me know.

I would really Love to hear others opinions on different peonies compared within the same color range.

Top and David, we hope that you will participate next year! It's a great chance to see peonies that you don't grow and/or see peonies blooms in other parts of the country. Sometimes, the same variety of peony can exhibit blooms in different color and forms when grown in different parts of country or world.
