I love this image, because the surrounding foliage echoes the Clematis. The Lily foliage enhances the petal formation, and the filigree appearance of the Coreopsis (or is it Larkspur foliage?), echoes the shape of the stamens.
Anyhow, Congrats - it's a great photo!

Thanks, Nora. It was totally unplanned and just a self-seeded clem, probably from Jackmanii, but I loved it when I spotted it. Yes, that's coreopsis Zagreb.

I agree. It's a wonderful photo and it was one of my favorites in the Vines Category.

Thanks pirl, for the confirmation on Coreopsis Zagreb. It loves to insinuate itself through areas in the garden, like an explorer, flexing its muscles. And how nice to have a Clematis, seed itself so charmingly into your garden.

Thank you, Zuzu.

Zagreb does find a way to weave itself between other plants. It has a way of filling any vacancies.

Thanks, Dirt. I had about five or six self-seeded ones last year but loved the one we're discussing best of all.

This is one of the others, now a few years old.
