I have a couple of Autumn ferns in outdoor pots which seem like they have new fronds ready to go (see photo), but it appears "stuck". Is this a sign that the plant is lacking something it needs (fertilizer, more water, etc.)? Will trimming back the mature fronds trigger the new ones to come out? Thanks in advance.
