My two outdoor crotons are doing well in their window seat. When I moved them inside for winter, we just set them into deep, scooped-out plastic plates. That worked, but they got pretty full one time. I was worried about water overflow on my hardwood floors so I got to thinking about alternative "saucers". A DIY outdoor planter I made with an automotive oil drip pan this past summer came to mind and I thought those are about the right size. Well........they are just perfect for my 20" black croton pots. No more water worries. If you use the Krylon spray paint designed for plastic, you could even paint these whatever color you need/want them to be. My pots just happened to be black......lucky me. :)

That is nice indeed. I have used many alternatives, old ice cream tubs, boot trays, plastic plates, old pastry containers....anything to catch the drip. Smiling But whichever ones they are, I have to make sure to empty them so the plant does not sit in water needlessly.
