Some of my young library coworkers are quite fond of tattoos, and fashion hair color (bright non real hair color). Actually I did some fashion color and really liked it. Underneath in back, subtle haha. No tats for me tho.
Continuing with series 'Counterpart' in which there was a pandemic. So, it's a little eerie that they wrote this a couple years ago and look what we have..
Plant it and they will come.

It's been predicted for a couple of decades in fictional/speculative form. Not a long stretch, given our population density, trade and travel, international animosities, and our assault on the last remaining wilderness.

It's been in the public consciousness since the bird flu scare; even more so since the coronavirus showed up in NA, causing SARS
All the health experts knew that a bigger and meaner variant would follow at some point. Most of the national and international epidemiological agencies
laid out preparedness plans and recommendations.

Governments were less assiduous in following those guidelines than they should have been - one president notably scrapped the existing plan - and made no serious contingency plans for the economic fallout.
Nobody wants to rock that boat until it's actually sinking!
And we could have learned all of this from the movies.

For some individual viewing, on the laptop, I turn at times to Youtube. Any hobby or interest I can imagine, I bet is on there. I just found one youtuber I liked with several about ghost towns and desert exploring in the West. Another is a family organic farm in North Carolina.
Plant it and they will come.

Wonder Woman 1984 was okay, but clearly an attempt to be a comedy until the end, which was somewhat confusing. I would have preferred it to be serious all the way through. Really a type of social comment on the excesses of the 80s, it achieved that at some points but went way overboard at others. Gal Gadot tried to play it straight, while Pedro Pascal ( the villain, Max Lord )played it full camp. Confusing.

Watching Blink which might be the best episode of Dr. Who . A marathon of the show is on BBC all week.

I'm trying to catch up with all my pre recorded series. That's a lot; I have back episodes of His Dark Materials, Lovecraft Country, Black Narcissus and some program on the History Channel.

We recently watched all our Doctor Who series and all of DS9, and are now - again! - into Babylon 5. Not my choice (his favourite series), but an interestin juxtaposition, as there are so many similarities and and parallel situations, as well as overlap of cast. No surprise: They were made almost simultaneously, by the same generation of writers in the same cultural climate. Both have a long story arc, rather than episodic events and are far more complex than their Star Trek predecessors.

I was watching Life Below Zero last night. I like that one.

I did try Life Below Zero The New Generation a time or two but I don't watch it . I don't like the people they follow and find them boring and annoying.

I have seen snatches of Life Below Zero Port Protection a few times and it is not bad.

The new series set in Canada in the Yukon is good. I watched it last night. The two guys shot a BIG Moose so that was interesting and another guy built scaffolding and fixed his roof chimney.

It is like the other series in that they have a bunch of people they follow and jump around during the show.
