Beautiful blooms. I am delighted to see the King Midas bloom. I picked up some cuttings of it last fall. I'm afraid it will be a bit before mine blooms. I will enjoy yours vicariously. Very nice.

King midas has been a reliable grower and bloomer for me. Pretty too.
It does have somewhat leggy growth and has some prickles too.

Very lovely as always! I'm sure after the dry seasons you have seen, the rain would be welcome. In moderation of course.

Kiwi Legend started flowering at the start of the last rains, The NOIDEp1 also flowered for the first time then.

Today pollinated both flowers as rain has stopped overnight.

ID for the NOID has gone, any suggestions?

Due to the indoor lighting the pics were a bit average but we had a good amount of blooms considering the show was 2 weeks later than usual. Some later bloomers were displayed.
I didn't count 'em but maybe 50 or 60 blooms.
Yes Mr Occy, Kon Tiki is along he same lines as Forever young but a bit lighter orange.
I was surprised it didn't get in the top 3 but it may have had a nick in it somewhere I couldn't see.
Blooms have to be perfect to win.
Soft lights also got a certificate as 'Highly commended'.
Here it is below with others from my place.

Congrats to LIz.

Noticed the anthers on her flower and others in the post.

Have found it extremely difficult to collect pollen from such anthers, are the flowers with this type of anther sterile as far as the male portion is concerned?

Any comments?

Cheers

Sorry Robert, no idea about pollen. (Except when displaying blooms you have to brush it off petals with a small paintbrush).
However your NOIDep1 could be Ambrosia...maybe. See pic below.

Ambrosia.

Thanks Steve, I thought it might be Ambrosia however the petals are not as pointed.

Have another bud which should open next week, perhaps the petals maybe different.

Good Morning all, it's Lynne here, back from the dead. I have FINALLY got my internet access sorted out after an exhausting job moving into town from a rural hobby farm, with most of my epi collection intact but still very disorganised. I have managed to take pics in the last few days so here are some of them:

Steve the bud mentioned opened overnight, this time the petals do have points, so Ambrosia is the most likely candidate.

My grafted Chauncey flowered overnight, plant photo on the Grafting thread.

Had held the flowers closed overnight against the morning Dew/Fog which would have ruined he pollen which I wanted.
