I hope the triffids froze their little back ends off after the hail that stayed on the pots for most of the afternoon and evening.
Do they have back ends?
I will get my broomstick out and check later today, the weather is supposed to be mild today.
Course, maybe they were smothered by wet green leaves? Think there is a chance if they were out there?

They tend to go dormant in bad weather. But twit has more experience with them. He would be the one to answer your questions.

Lynn,

The F1 Excaliber just means these are probably open pollinated seedlings from Excaliber. I'm sure Gary just had a bunch of them and gave them away as such. This wouldn't necessarily be just one cultivar but rather a bunch of seedlings. Each one would be different. You see why I compost mine or give them NO NAME now! Too much confusion! If a seedling is numbered I will use that designation until it merits a name.

I will remove it from the database. We don't need that confusion.
