Hello My Friends
Have you ever seen the list of chemicals that organic farmers can use and still be "legally" considered organic. It would make your hair stand on end.

I read the article, Rj. Very interesting that the Fed's concern was generated by financial gains firstly, then secondly, by product fraud.

And...on another subject - Yes, Jack, I have. I am part of the Organic Farmers of Michigan. Years ago we watched carefully as the federal government wanted involvement - to improve the Organic certification process and make it 'better'.
As a certified Organic Grower, who became certified long before USDA became involved, I was horrified to see how they (USDA) 'dumbed down' the rules so that corporate farms could become certified.
I want no part of that.

That dumbing down is why I might as well buy produce that isn't organic. It used to mean something. I do still buy organic flour, bread and pasta, I think they are not allowed to spray the wheat with roundup before harvest, because it doesn't give me headaches like regular wheat, noodles, bread, etc.

Nothing better than harvesting fruit & vegetables from your own garden.
