I tried separating several offsets this year and potted them up. They quickly sprouted leaves, they are healthy but tiny. I'm just curious how long will it take for them to bloom? I'm expecting at least 2 years, probably more like 3, but that's just a guess. And should I force them into dormancy over next winter or just let them keep growing?

I will move them outdoors for the summer with the larger bulbs. It just didn't seem right to just toss them away.

it is depending on your climate, how hot it can be in summer and how long. Amaryllis loves heat and grows very quickly when temperatures are high.

Here it usually about 3 years, bulbs should reach at least 23-25 cm in circumference.

3-5 years. The bulbs have to grow in size. Don't force dormancy, the leaves will die back on their own in the winter. I am dealing with this right now with a pot of Supreme Garden offsets. I have 14 offsets, in a 10" pot, that are 4 years old. The largest diameter one bloomed in May 2019, and the rest just put up leaves. They are all dormant now, and I hope that a few more will bloom this spring. The buds are made the summer before, so whether or not they bloom this spring has already been determined. To save space you could pot up all the offsets in one pot: It will be a couple of years before they need more space.

Thanks both for that info, I didn't figure it to be a quick process. If they make it, I thought they'd make great gifts for my neighbors.

And I did exactly what you did bsharf, I potted them all into one pot with little Dymo tape number labels stuck on the outside of the pot for each so I'd know which was which.

Good idea to label the outside of the pot. That hadn't occurred to me to try that.

please do not plant them too close one to another, otherwise you will get this problem (after 2 years)

That is a tangled mess, but I bet when it blooms, it's magnificent looking.

No, there's a lot of space around the bulbs. I doubt they'll even be near touching each other after 2 years. But I had thought of just inserting a piece of plastic straight down into the pots to divide them, so they couldn't attach to one another.
