IKR! This is why this plant doesn't manifest as the beautiful ground cover that the imagination can make you think it could be. Tons of sun helps tame it a bit, but it's still likely to climb right over other plants instead of politely grow around the base of taller entities.

Mine loves sun and makes a beautiful ground cover but yes, it rudely goes over and through any other plant in its way.

Nothing kills it here, not even sure how it got in my garden, at least it is easy to pull up where you don't want it. There is a huge patch of it in our neighborhood that grows in a shady wooded area, not sure how it got there, I took a photo of it one day below. Another house has it growing up their sago palms, it actually looks nice totally covers the base of the palm, those are in total sun.

Ours got here the same way the bamboo and white butterfly syngonium got here...when the old owner of the house left she tossed plants she didn't want into the woods. Thinking that because she was growing them as houseplants they would just die (silly woman)

I thought in full sun the color washed out of the leaves...
Those look good.
I have some in a planter growing inside my house. It gets bright indirect sunlight. The side closer to the window gets washed out leaves, mainly purple. The ones further from the window keeps there color better.

This plant is a chameleon, anybody should be able to find an exposure that causes the appearance they prefer.

This is what happens when I put it in full sun.

Mostly shade

Brought inside and totally faded

Tiffany, interesting color change. Steve, that patch I posted is in a very shady wooded location.

These plants in my garden choose to grow in the filtered shade spots. The first photo gets some good afternoon sun, doesn't seem to change the color.

Excellent pics, so much color!!!

Have you tried putting snips in different exposures?

LOL, it has jumped all over the garden all by itself. I have not found any of the really bright reddish color like you showed in one of your pics. Our property is irrigated regularly if we have not had rain. Perhaps soil moisture also has something to do with the color.

I don't know. That occurs while in the sun all day with no shade, but being in pots with other plants, the soil is never 100% dry.

Tiffany, I break pieces off when sweeping often, I have tossed them in the sunnier areas, but none are all day sun, they take root and grow in more sun areas, but not as vigorous.
I have an area on the east side of my house that is full sun until about three, it is irrigated, so I will plant some over there and see what happens.

Hi, this has been a go-to summer plant for me a few years now. I have to bring some in for winter. It gets pretty rough by spring but if any scrap lives, it rebounds amazingly. I mostly use it in quite a bit of Maryland sun with some tropical things, like filling up around the base of my big Alocasia. Maybe I'll look to see where see to try (throw) it. So bold though.
I have a relative of it, Tinantia, which has sprung up in one or two new shady places. Must travel very easily somehow.

INteresting, I love everything from Plant Delights , if only I could afford half of it. Whistling

I found a tiny piece of this NOID in a full pot of salvia purchased a few years ago, I never knew it was there until I started to transplant. I separated it out, potted it up and it has done well for me. I have no idea which variety it is and the only problem I have with it is that it is very brittle, I pick up broken pieces often but they re-root easily as expected. It stays in bloom almost constantly. You can see all the spent blooms in one of the pics. It is a lot more silvery than shows in the pics.

yes, and I'm kind of kicking myself, not buying a little pot for the very reasonable (these days) $2.99 at a conservatory around Xmas.
Plant it and they will come.
