I got this a few years ago as a free gift. Might be considered a rebloomer, I got a couple of flowers now and it already bloomed. I thought it was 'Going Banannas' but then I saw a 'Joan Senior'. I am leaning toward JS. Can anyone tell me for sure?

Seems a pretty good match but can't know for sure unless you plant a known Joan Senior next to it. There are over 72,000 registered daylilies and without a unique distinct feature, one can never quite be certain.

Susan, I agree with Sue, it could be about anything. Are both photos the same plant? The is quite a difference in the color of the blooms. I personally do not think you can guess on the name unless there is something really, really distinctive about the flower. Or if you have a list of ones you had, but just not sure which one of that list a certain flower is.

There are so many registered daylilies. Many of them look alike.

Thanks everyone. Yes, both photos are the same plant. The first one was a new bloom and I think the second one was older. Do they fade? I have looked at a lot of pictures and mine looks just like it but mine seed a bit more yellow.
I was looking at daylilies and recognized the name Joan Senior and wondered if this was Joan Senior. I got one as a free gift from Greatgardenplants.com All this time I have been calling it Going Banannas. Whistling
I found the invoice they did send me a Joan Senior. I have no other daylilies except Chicago Star which was also a free gift. I have email saying they were going to send me a Going BAnanas if I sign up for the Newsletter. As far as I knew I never got the free lily. Nothing ever came in the mail. This Joan Senior was listed on my paid invoice as the free gift. That is why I was thinking this was Joan Senior. Green Grin!
I don't like it (Joan Senior) enough to plant another one. I tip my hat to you. Thanks!!

Flowers will fade during the day, but usually it affects darker flowers, not so much the yellow/white ones.

Sorry you don't like the daylilies. There are SO many out there, perhaps if you tried a few more, you would find a form you like.

One thing to consider - the larger nurseries often have tissue cultured plants. Some do ok, others do not. So, you might get better performance from a plant that has not been cultured. I don't buy daylilies at nurseries, large perennial or general mail order places, or big box stores. I get them from daylily gardens. Your pretty much assured that you will get a field grown division then.

Daylily, I have not been much into Daylilies but I just ordered 75. Most of them are coming from Maryott's. Got a few from Oakes, Smokeys, Hallson's and Mary's Garden Patch. No box stores, never bought a Hosta there either, I'm too scared. Green Grin!

Sorry, I was thinking you meant you did not like daylilies well enough to plant more.

You should be happy with orders from those places.

I have not ordered from Maryott, but I hear he sends wonderful plants! Thumbs up

Well, since you have that invoice that says Joan Senior and it looks like it, I would say it's safe to assume that's what it is! Thumbs up
