I'm afraid all my irises just smell like iris, nothing special.

Iris smell still tops any other scent I know. Coming in second, Roses. Every year I am once again awed by the scents of the garden, As if I had never smelled the Irises and Roses before!

Good one Evelyn!

Lucy - That iris scent is the whole reason I fell in love with irises in the first place so yours are special too.

I messaged Walter Moores who I am friends with on facebook to check pedigree of Arazi as he is hybridizer of pod parent Purgatory to look at pedigree. He says it is the only registered child of Purgatory. Interesting & wonder why. I no longer have the plant but it was a great grower. Perhaps difficult to pod. As a small hybridizer I didn't do a lot of work at the time.

The Median iris convention in OK has been canceled. The plants are in place. Perhaps they can hold it next year.

We are suggesting lots of photos when the plants bloom.
